educational background.

Graduating cum laude in just three years from Penn State University, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in Digital Media Trends and Analytics in 2023. Additionally, in 2023, I also obtained certifications in Project Management from Temple University. Upon receiving my undergraduate degree, I dedicated my fourth year of college to obtaining a Master of Arts in Media Studies with a concentration on Strategic Communications in 2024.

Throughout my academic career, I earned a number of merit-based scholarships to support and incentivize my academic successes. For instance, I was one of five students chosen to be a Bunton-Waller Fellow Scholar in my undergraduate and graduate studies. I also received a Sidney & Helen Friedman Endowed Scholarship for academic achievement. My studies have further ignited my passion for media as I understand the theories to support practical work.

culture central.

Culture Central is a 15x award-winning student entertainment talk show that I cofounded in 2022. At Culture Central, I served as the show’s executive producer, creative director, general manager, writer, graphic designer, playlist curator, final editor, and host for two consecutive years. I worked arduously to develop the show’s brand by creating the logo, writing the mission and vision statements, and spearheading strategic promotional efforts.

The talk show was created as a means to highlight students of color on Penn State’s campus. The show provided a creative platform for individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds to be seen and heard. Upon Culture Central’s success in just one year, I furthered the show’s mission by officially registering it as a student media organization in 2023 thus becoming the organization’s first president.

As president of the organization, I was able to offer more opportunities for Penn State students to enhance their media skills and create professional-grade projects by collaborating with over 30 entities and organizations including but not limited to NBC Sports and Peacock, the T. Howard Foundation, Penn State’s official radio station The Lion 90.7 FM, and other on-campus organizations.

Furthermore, due to my leadership and diligence to Culture Central, I was awarded Penn State’s Student Leadership Scholarship in 2023. I was also awarded Penn State Network Television’s first-ever Best Producer Award in 2023 due to my creative direction and dedication to production. Lastly, I led the show to win its first Telly Award for Student Broadcasting in 2024.

the lion 90.7 fm.

I have always had a passion for music thus leading me to host a radio show and ultimately take a leadership position at Penn State’s official radio station The Lion 90.7 FM. At The Lion, I served as the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for two consecutive years.

While holding this position, I assisted with revitalizing the radio station by leading rebranding efforts. As a member of the radio station for three years, I have always been excited about the opportunities The Lion could provide with better promotional efforts. As I was able to understand the areas in which The Lion could be improved, I worked with a student group on campus to rebrand the station and increase membership.

Additionally, I created a strategic plan to ensure The Lion’s membership increased. Moreover, I created an official partnership between The Lion and Culture Central to ensure more diverse members were recruited. My efforts ultimately led to an 11% increase in membership and diversity. Furthermore, due to my efforts and successes at the radio station, I was awarded the Walsh Broadcaster Trustee Scholarship.

commagency.

CommAgency is a student-run creative agency at Penn State. During my time at CommAgency, I worked as a Social Media Strategist and completed work for two contracted clients. I worked with a colleague to create a brand strategy proposal for Penn State’s Agricultural Sciences College.

I also created short-form content for Penn State’s Matson Museum of Anthropology. While working with the museum, the content I created was shared via Instagram reels, TikTok, and LinkedIn videos. My team’s work for the museum received national recognition as we earned a distinguished honor from the Education Digital Marketing Awards.

professional pursuits.

Currently, I am pursuing a career in media that allows me to actively apply my acquired skills while also learning new ones. I am passionate about using my academic and practical knowledge to support my pursuits of production and brand development.
